Herbal Fracture CBD Treats for Dogs: Are They Worth the Hype?

Cannabidiol, or short for CBD, is currently making headlines for its plethora medicinal benefits. Anecdotal evidence indicates that CBD is capable of relieving pain, anxiety, inflammation, depression, to name a few. Interestingly, it is not just humans who can reap its benefits, but also animals.

When CBD oil for dogs started gaining popularity, I was honestly surprised and curious about whether or not these products are safe for my pooch. But eventually, word of mouth has spread among groomers, clinics, and even in the online community. Since then, I noticed many people have started grabbing CBD-based pet products from the counters and online stores.

Studies suggest that mammals possess the same endocannabinoid system as humans. CBD can reportedly stimulate this system to help promote homeostasis, reduce pain sensation, and inhibit inflammation. It is also involved in many physiological and cognitive processes, including regulating appetite, mood, and memory.

Okay, wait… are you telling me my dog should smoke weed?

Absolutely not! No animal is smoking anything. Also, it is important to emphasize that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD are two different compounds. Although they can be called cousins, THC is the compound that is responsible for the ‘high’. And just to make it clear, CBD does not produce the same mind-altering effects as THC.

With that in mind, it is vital to find a reliable brand that sources CBD from agricultural or medicinal hemp plants. Since I started giving CBD to my pooch, Herbal Fracture has been my partner. It teams up directly with veterinarians, herbalists, pain management specialists, and retail shops to create its products.

Herbal Fracture makes use of an advanced CO2 extraction technology to produce safe and effective CBD products. Its plants are organically grown in Colorado and are free from pesticides, heavy metals, bio-contaminants, and even molds.

Currently, the company has a number of CBD-infused pet products to offer. Pet tinctures blend in MCT oil or Cod Liver oil are available in three concentrations at 300mg, 1200mg, and 2400mg. But since I love teaching my pooch some tricks, I went for the dog treats.

There are two available flavor choices for the treats: bacon and peanut butter. My dog loves both flavors so it was easy for me to give her the daily dose of CBD she needs. Each treat is infused with 10mg of CBD isolate.

How much CBD should I give my pet?

According to Herbal Fracture’s website, most veterinarians recommend 1mg CBD per 1 kg of pet body weight.

So… did my dog love it?

She certainly did! As I said, she loves the taste of peanut butter and bacon so the transition from regular treats to CBD treats was not difficult. The treats come in heart shapes too and have just the right size for small dogs to eat. The consistency is perfect as well. It was not too hard or too soft to munch. I know when my dog loves something as she would tap me to ask for more.

The biggest bag at 4 oz contains 20 treats. It costs $32.99. Smaller packs are also up for grabs at 1oz for $9.99 and 2oz for $18.99. All are available at www.herbalfracture.com.

Overall, I am rating Herbal Fracture Dog Treats a score of 8.5/10. My dog doesn’t talk but I know when she likes or does not like something. But this one goes to her like-list. I love the smell of the treats.

The packaging is okay. It is not on the creative side, but hey, it is the content that matters the most, right? As for the price, well, it can be a little steep that is why I only use this when teaching her a trick. If not, I just pour CBD tincture on her food.
